Install Your Own Satellite TV

When it comes to entertainment, we would always want to have only the best in our boobtube.  By getting the best, I mean, getting the best of everything without having to have a deep hole burned in our wallets.  The same goes for everything.  This is what satellite TV is making the waves for.  For a more affordable rate, we get loads of channels, more variety in TV programs, and a remarkable 100% audio and video quality that only a satellite TV can offer.  We now know how it works but how to install a satellite TV in our den is THE question of the hour.

Smart Buyers Don’t Pay Extra for Satellite TV Service

With all the satellite TV networks in the market, it pays to be a well-informed service buyer.  To avoid unnecessary charges, it is best that we also know how to install the satellite TV dish, the satellite receiver and all the other equipment that are necessary in a smooth satellite TV viewing experience.  For the budget-conscious, a basic knowledge on how to install everything can save you time, money, and everything else.  Sometimes you just have to do a little bit of do-it-yourself installation to get that sought after satellite TV without hurting your wallet big time. All you really need is a satellite dish, a satellite receiver, a long coax cable and a little know-how and you’re good to go.

Installing your own satellite TV is quite simpler than what most people think.  After you’ve ordered your new satellite TV system from independent retailers (you can check the Internet for great deals), check if everything’s complete: satellite dish, satellite receiver, long coax wire, installation manual and all the other necessary stuff to put them all together. Are they all in good condition? Great! You’re ready to install your very own satellite TV.

Setting Up Your Satellite TV

The first thing you need to do to get your satellite TV is to mount your satellite dish on your roof or on a south-facing wall. When picking your dish’s location, choose one where there are no trees or tall buildings nearby. If you live in a condo or in an apartment, you can still get your satellite dish TV by setting up your dish on a balcony using a portable stand that you can get from your satellite TV dealer. Once you’ve picked the perfect location and installed your dish, connect your cable to your dish then feed the cable through the walls of your house to the rooms where you have your TV. Connect your TV to your satellite receiver, connect the cable from your dish to your receiver, and then connect your receiver to the nearest telephone jacks with telephone wire.
Then turn on your TV and your satellite receiver. You can ask someone to monitor the satellite TV provider’s signal strength menu on your TV while you aim your dish by setting the right azimuth with your compass. Move your dish up, down or sideways till you get the right elevation and skew.

Lastly, contact your satellite TV provider, tell him to activate your system, grab your remote and sit back and relax while flipping on the huge number of crystal clear channels only satellite TV could have.

Job well done!  Give yourself a pat in the back!
